BQ Tadano’s 35t-capacity 350E uses the lowest-spec chassis, a four-axle unit from First Automobile Works in China, which also supplies Kato truck cranes. This crane launched in early 2006. The crane has a 34m boom and 33.5t gross vehicle weight.

The single-person carrier on Tadano’s 55t-capacity 550E model, in contrast, is made by Tadano itself (and sold outside of China). It includes an Eton transmission, UK-made Cummins diesel engine. Beijing Crane Works carries out final assembly for units delivered to China. The crane has a 42m boom and 40t gross vehicle weight. The four-axle 550E originally launched at Bauma Munich 2004.
Although the company expects to sell about 200 of the GT250 in China by year-end, although it admits it is a newcomer in the market. It has not yet decided which carrier combinations it will carry forward. “We are collecting acceptance in the market now,” a spokesman said. “We won’t necessarily select one only.”
