One of its first jobs will be the Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) project in the Pilbara region.
DTMT Construction is based in Bibra Lake, on the outskirts of Fremantle, yet services the booming mining and civil construction sector across the state. This Quality endorsed company operates by the philosophy of getting the job done right the first time which has ensured steady company growth for DTMT as support continues for WA’s booming construction and resources sector.
Upon arrival, the new Tadano ATF 110G-5 was mobilised north to work on the expansive Cloud Break iron ore mining project for FMG. However, according to DTMT’s Operations Manager Paul Dujmovic, the crane is also expected to serve their local area.
“Our new Tadano is versatile enough to use as a taxi crane throughout our local civil and commercial development industries,” said Paul Dujmovic.
“We chose the Tadano because it best suited our lifting requirements. We anticipate the crane to be spending a great deal of time serving our local construction needs on top of our regional projects.”
DTMT is backed by an extensive list of well maintained equipment including a range of excavators and highly manoeuvrable Franna cranes.
The Tadano ATF 110G-5 is built on a 5 axle carrier with 4 point, double telescopic outriggers and powered by a Mercedes-Benz 380kW 8 cylinder diesel engine. The ZF-AS Tronic transmission with 16 forward and 2 reverse gears is backed up with 10 wheel drive traction and hydro-pneumatic levelling suspension.
Torsion-resistant steel is used on the ATF 110G-5 superstructure to support the 52m, 5 section telescopic main boom that is capable of lifting 110 tonne. A Mercedes-Benz 129kW 4 cylinder diesel supplies the power while an air conditioned full panoramic superstructure cab provides a safe and comfortable control centre. Divisible counterweights to 11 tonne are operated through the cab.
