The crane, supplied by Sydney-based Active Crane Hire, can handle materials in an area of a 35m radius with loads of up to 4t (4USt) under the hook.

The self-erector was ideal for the project because of the waterside location, steep slopes and existing neighbouring properties.

To simply get the material from the delivery truck to the site was problematic due to narrow lanes. Mobile cranes are often too large for this kind of operation.

Bellevarde Constructions, who won the contract for the project, said: “It’s our second successful waterfront project with a self-erecting tower crane.”
