Tampa, Florida-headquartered crane leasing and sales specialist Sims Crane & Equipment, which has operated for over six decades, has bought the first Tadano GT-800XL-2 truck crane in the USA.
The 80 ton crane has a five-section 154.3′ power boom, a 33.1 ft / 58.1 ft bi-fold jib, and a self-removable counterweight. It debuted at ConExpo alongside the 120-ton GT-1200XL-2.
Tadano says that with their low axle weights, narrow transport widths and long boom designs its new Tadano truck cranes can easily get special permitting for transport – making them suitable for taxi crane service.
The new crane will sit alongside Sims’ large fleet of Tadano all-terrain cranes and will be available across Florida and Georgia.
